I know of some companies in Utah that don't hire BYU grads - but not because of athletics; because of religion and politics. I know this because I've talked to HR people who work/have worked at these companies. I'm sure there are others out there - so-called progressive company hiring managers that toss a BYU resume aside based on some bias - real or perceived. In one case I'm aware of, the executives embrace a "party-hard" culture and they don't want to deal with BYU people - qualified or not.
I'm proud of my BYU undergrad education; but as corporate values evolve and more progressive politics are embraced I wonder if it may become a net liability in certain industries.
