Here's BYU's WR situation this year:
Balderee. 13 for 156 and 2.
MLP. 33 for 389 and 3.
Marshall. 7 for 66 and 1
Hifo. 11 for 58
Trinnaman. 28 for 321 and 1.
So that's 92 catches for 990 yards and 7 TDs.
Here's last year:
All of those players plus
Juergens (99 for 1228 and 8)
Kurtz (88 for 1119 and 5)
Pearson (76 for 864 and 8)
Maybe Trinnaman gets to the level of Pearson, or even Kurtz, but it's unlikely he catches Juergens with nobody to take the pressure off, and last year you had three of them at that level. Super talented and athletic? Maybe not, but tall and experienced at least.
2015 has Juergens, Kurtz, and Pearson plus Houk (60 for 739 and 4). So yes, you're in worse shape this year than either of the last two.
