there are uses for gold- but...
See who Gold is marketed to... on Fox News and conservative talk radio between catheter commercials as investments and at times sold at "cash 4 gold" and check cashing/ pay day loan establishments.
But at least with gold there is a tangible product and an established market. The vanity of old may be winding down but the market is more established than lines of code
