I wouldn't classify it as a drop, would have taken a lot of strength to retain
possession, it was possible to catch, but that defender hitting his arm, made it extremely difficult, don't really blame Tanner for not catching that.

Here you go...both look pretty bad to my untrained eye.

Thanks. Coulda been caught but the defender is the one who hit it out.

My initial reaction was to argue with you but then I rewatched it

I still think he started trying to turn before catching the ball and opened up

His shoulders and hips didn't turn, he never had a chance to go upfield
g$
9/12/17 6:36pm
Well he didn't turn all the way back to the ball either. He was too concerned
cougaman

He needs to make the catch and go out of bounds there. Getting a first down was

His body should be on a 90' angle to the throw, he was only off by a few degrees

Do you disagree that his instinct should have been to get to the sideline and

Priority 1a catch, 1b get out of bounds

Yeah, It wasn't a horrible play. Even if he catches that he is turning the wrong
cougaman
9/12/17 7:49pm
He didn't turn the wrong way, that was the called route
g$
9/12/17 7:58pm
He was turning upfield and inside instead of toward the sideline. Noway he gets

That was the called route, can't blame him for the route, OC makes that decision
g$

I guess I just assumed the route was a comeback, and it was his decision to turn
cougaman
9/12/17 8:11pm
inside and outside digs are known before the ball is snapped
g$
9/12/17 8:22pm
Thanks. Any play in that situation should be to the outside or a straight
cougaman
9/12/17 8:58pm
Straight isn't an option unless you plan on adding the back flip

Yeah he maybe could've been more aggressive coming back to the ball but
GOR

hits him square in the middle of the chest - if that isn't a drop, then i'm not

I thought it was originally more of a good defensive play, but looks like Beau

Both great throws by one Tanner Mangum. Right where they could get out of bounds if need be

He should have come back to the ball. Had plenty of room for the first down.

That drop by Hifo hurts my stomach. Ugh.

Yes. And 1st down by Hifo. Both were very bad drops--open with no defender.

Correct on Hifo's. Not correct on Tanner's

Tanner's could have been caught... Hifo's absolutely should have been caught...

Agree on Hifo all the way, but Tanner's should have been caught. The only

Good point... If he gets his hands on that ball, and secures it properly,

Drop - Beau seems like a track guy trying to be a football player
