I am not married to the passing game, however, BYU's LDS recruiting base
consistently produces highly recruited QBs, TEs, and OL.

It does also produce some good/adequate WRs and RBs (but those are a bit more hit/miss in the LDS base).

If coaches can supplement WR and RB with non-members/JUCO players, there is absolutely no reason that the pro-style offense should not be a good fit for BYU's traditional recruiting base.
