This gets repeated so often, but do you know that it's true?
Or could it be that the receivers are running the wrong routes and so the pass looks like its off when maybe it's right where it should be? Yes, we have your own lying eyes as evidence that the throws were off, but as evidence for the other possibility the coaches repeatedly claimed that many of the mistakes were wrong routes. These coaches seem to tell it like it is.

I have been convinced for a long time that the receivers are making route read mistakes quite often still. We saw it in Mangum's first pick against Utah. Three receivers ran to the same area of the field, making the throw all but impossible. You could see it last game in the missed throw to Neil Pau'u. He was supposed to run a corner, but he ran an out. Ball was over his head. Mangum came to the sidelines making hand motions like "I thought he was going corner", and Detmer was visibly irritated at Pau'u.

Taysom is far more accurate than poster on this board are giving credit for.
