During WWII my great grandfather couldn't get meat for his Idaho Falls grocery

store without raising/sourcing locally. My grandpa helped with the weekly chicken slaughter, and his dad did the butchering of larger animals. Grandpa still has the old meat saw, and the wooden handle still has a tacky feel from the soaked-in fat. We may like our gadgets today, but traditional ways of preparing food are fascinating.
