McMahon was the quintessential rebel. So some don't remember him with as much love because he was a bad boy. Young just never had the same humble personality of a Detmer (not that he was arrogant) that was so ingratiating to BYU fans and will be on and on. There is an argument for not being the greatest QB, but not for not being the most beloved.
