For one thing, they have more wins. For another, they've managed better offensive production (who knows how good UVA's defense is, but 23 against UVA is much more impressive than 20 against Portland State - which just happens to be BYU's best offensive game of the year).

This is a down year for BSU, no doubt about it... But they hung with Washington State, and have two FBS wins (which is a good deal better than BYU's single FCS win).
