The thing is you can bank some money, finish your degree (either in the off
season or com back and wrap it up after), and just start your career a little later. Mika, for example, can probably make $250k average for the next 8 years. If he can be smart and bank roughly $500k (seems doable), they easily have a couple years for him to finish school. Then he is 32/33 and starts as an analyst/associate/whatever he wants to do, and is just a few years behind his friends in his career. If I could have banked half a million and just pushed back my career a decade, I would have done it. Certainly more than I have banked in the first 10 years of my career otherwise...
