The first 8 games, the tougher part of the schedule... 8 1st halves and BYU combined for about 600 yds in those. Not one first half broke 100 yds. The closest was Toledo with 97, and 75 came on the first play. Which means the rest of the half there were only TWO more completions. Yes we had Jamaal running like crazy but come on. 3 completions in the whole half. Hill was 3-11, and would have been 3-12 with an INT, but luckily they called it back.
Against Boise, they completed 4 passes in 23 minutes of game time, and only had 10 yds passing with 1:30 left in the 1stQ.
In 8 games of 1st halves, BYU combined for 3 TDs, 2 pick 6's, 4 total INTs (one more called back). Which basically means our offense was nearly a direct result of more points for opponents than ourselves.
And even worse this year. Though it's somewhat been similar when they're able to move at all... Look at Utah. Same thing. 3rd/4th Q comes and they move the QB out from under center and speed things up, and BYU moves down the field for some hero drives. Just like we constantly had to see last year.
