We are in the beginning phase of establishing some great QB's.
The current cycle of QB's and RB's are stepping into a more complex system. This does not simplify well, so freshman and sophomores will ideally pick up the system on the bench. We are currently not in the ideal situation with injuries.
The running backs will need to improve on their blocking schemes. It does not help that they are not getting enough live reps because of a sputtering offense. It seems we are about 3 or 4 games behind on getting this experience. When the pieces are finally clicking, the QB will gain 1-2 more seconds to make the correct reads and the play will progress and evolve. There have been a few times were the offense has been on the precipice of that breakthrough.
