The US won its independence only because of France and Spain, our allies against
the British. That what they've "ever done for us."
France was also our ally, twice, in defeating Germany.
Also, neither France nor Spain (or even Italy) ever produced Adolf Hitler or the Nazis, or freely elected them to lead their countries. They were also never responsible for a Holocaust. So there's that.
