After all, we were dumb enough to hire a guy who had zero head coaching experience. Who then proceeded to hire his friends and former BYU players, for the most part, as his assistant coaches even though they, for the most part, had little or no experience at the jobs they were hired for.
So what could we expect? Last year was a gift from Bronco and the previous coaching staff who left the program in excellent condition with a team full of very good players. Five players from last year's team are now on NFL rosters including all four team captains. Hill, Williams, Langi and Nacua were great players and team leaders. Now they're in the NFL and the current coaching staff has not replaced them.
Compare Bronco's second season to Kalani's second season. There is no comparison. Bronco went 11-2 and came within 10 points of going undefeated. We know how this season has gone.
So tell me again about how long it took Bronco to turn the program around?
On the other hand, the current coaches have taken a program in great shape and turned it into a mess.
Yes, we should give them more time. We were dumb enough to hire inexperienced coaches and we should have done it expecting it to take them a few years to get things working and win games. I don't want to see these BYU legends fail so we have to give them more time and fervently hope they succeed. But fans are fickle and impatient so things better improve pretty quick.
Great video.
