In your case, the poster who said it was complete crap is just a kind of grumpy mean dude.

And the reason he said that seems to be because he can't understand the difference between getting an inside perspective on what the coaches/sideline is thinking (which is what you gave) and what's absolute truth. He said it was complete crap because everybody has injuries. That's of course true, and he can think that it's just an excuse, and that in that sense it's "complete crap" but it does not invalidate the info you gave or make your post "complete crap."

It's a real and important distinction but unfortunately that kind of subtlety is not how some posters here think.
