1. The little spat with Adam James was over-blown. Adams DIVA dad made that what it was.
2. Most players prior to 1995 had coach's who were tough and in your face.

I saw Lavell loose it several times. He lost it huge during and Air Force game (circa 1987). He grabbed a referee by the shirt and ripped him towards him to complain during the half time break. Lavell was insane and was way out of line for getting physical with a ref. of course chirping sounds.
