To be fair, we all expected our skill players to have the system down by now.
Tanner just hasn't picked it up as well as we'd expect for his 2nd year. He's slow in his reads and still makes bad decisions. He's got a good arm, but doesn't seem to have the mental capacity to use it in the pro style system. Maybe that's partly because of his confidence issues.

Our best options at RB and TE have been frosh. They'll be great in the coming years, but they're still young. Our upperclassmen have been surprisingly bad. I wonder if they're having a hard time with the system switch.

But the bottom line is that Sitake and Detmer haven't demanded the effort and precision that Bronco and Anae did. I still believe that the pro style system is what we need to reach that next level that Bronco and Anae couldn't quite reach. But it needs to be accompanied by that consistency and effort that Bronco demanded.

We need a culture reset. Bronco, whatever his flaws, had that right.
