Here's the problem with the D:
1. Giving up 7 yards or more on 33% of UMASS' offensive plays
2. O INTs and only 3 passes defensed, only one forced fumble and only 6 TFLs. So, our havoc rate was abysmal once again.
3. We started 8 of our 13 drives on our own 25 yard line or worse. Special teams gave us 2 drives with good fp at midfield or UMASS' side of the field. The others were in the 30s.

When you have an offense relying on two RBs who are walk-ons (Hall, El-Bakri) and 2 QBs who were knocking on doors this time last year with inexperienced wide receivers that have gone through tons of inconsistency at the QB position, you need more from your D than normal.
