I’ve heard multiple times, the players are open, the plan is good, the QB has to work through his reads better, etc. This offense is just not working and needs to change.
Teams like Texas Tech and Washington State have last starting quarterbacks and not skipped a beat when you back up comes in running the spread. Going no huddle, and running this quick read offense may not prepare a guy for the NFL as good as Detmer’s current offense, but dozens and dozens of teams have shown that it is a good college offense for moving the ball.
Maybe the offense works in the NFL, because it is a full-time job and players can dedicate 40+ hours practicing and studying film?!?!
