This happens in higher education as well. I am aware of a prominent violin
professor at a major university in the midwest that has had several claims made against him. The violinists are often with him in practice rooms for one-on-one sessions. The University has paid them out several settlement agreements. None of the accusers wanted to go public because it could ruin their careers because of his influence and connections. He continues to work and is prominently featured in the music school's promotional materials.
