Position coaches are needle movers. If a coach is good at what he does
then he takes a good player and potentially makes them great. He may take a poorly skilled player and make them serviceable but coaches are not responsible for putting a guy in the nfl or keeping him out. You either have the skills, drive, timing, luck etc... or you don’t.
