It's early in the season, but I thought it would be interesting to see who the most prolific scorers, shooters, and rebounders are through the first four games. There were a few surprises.
Points scored/minute played:
Bryant 0.72
Dastrup 0.56 (it helps that he is 5-5 shooting so far this season)
Nixon 0.43
Haws 0.41
Childs 0.39
Worthington 0.39
Seljaas 0.30
Hardnett 0.19
Brown 0.13
For reference, these were the leaders from last season:
Mika 0.71
Bryant 0.47
Haws 0.45
Nixon and Worthington were the biggest surprises to me. Both scoring at a similar clip to Yoeli (although Yoeli has a lot more minutes played). Also would like to see more productivity from Seljaas. Dastrup is very high, but he's played relatively few minutes (27) without missing a shot.
So who is taking the most shots?
Shots taken/minute played:
Bryant 0.37
Childs 0.33
Nixon 0.26
Haws 0.25
Worthington 0.24
Seljaas 0.21
Dastrup 0.19
Hardnett 0.18
Brown 0.13
From last season:
Mika 0.45
Emery 0.36
Bryant 0.34
No big surprises here, although would like to see Seljaas getting a few more shot attempts
Rebounding will likely be a challenge this season, especially if one of the bigs get in foul trouble. So who are the most prolific rebounders?
Rebounds/minute played:
Nixon 0.25 Nixon has more offensive boards (11) than defensive (9)
Childs 0.23 Childs has been great on defensive rebounds, but only has 4 offensive boards. For comparison, Worthington has 5 in less than half the minutes played
Bryant 0.18
Worthington 0.18
Dastrup 0.15
Haws 0.13
Hardnett 0.12
Seljaas 0.07
Brown 0.00
Last season:
Mika 0.32
Childs 0.32
Shaw 0.30
Childs' productivity is down a little from last season, but it as only been four games. It would be nice to get Shaw back into the mix.
Overall, there is more balance this season than last, although that could change once Rose settles in on his rotations.
