History of the Honor Code
Does anyone know the history or the background of the Honor Code?

Just off the top of my head...without googling...I want to say that it came into existence during President Wilkinson's era at BYU.

I'm wondering if there were any specific incidents which triggered a perceived need for it at BYU....or if it was just due in general to the climate on college campuses in the 60's and early 70's with everything crazy that was going on during the drugs/sex/rock n roll hippie movement and Vietnam War era?

Put another way... did the PTB at BYU create it reactively or proactively?
