Here's why people are excited about Grimes
Some of you younger BYU fans might not remember when Grimes coached here the first time. He arrived near the end of Crowton's tenure. Our offensive lines went immediately from being average to very good. But the greatest difference was the attitude. Some how Grimes molded these soft RMs into linemen with killer instincts, ready to take the opposition's head off. Grimes was one of the few coaches kept by Bronco Mendenhall and was an important part of how BYU was able to learn how to play angry.

Part of this year's problem was a lack of accountability and mental toughness. The offensive line was good, but other areas of the offense lacked discipline and fire. We're excited because we saw the change Grimes brought to BYU's line in 2004 and 2005. It's not unreasonable to think this change will occur within the offense. And Grimes attitude is exactly what this team needs.
