I don't expect this idea to get a lot of support or to be implemented but a strategy occurred to me this week in regards to the basketball game tomorrow.
I was listening to Bill Riley (Utah play by play guy) this week talk about the game. He was talking about the great atmosphere he expected and that he also expected the BYU crowd to 'ride Larry's *** all night long." 80k seem like the type of guy who is very emotional and thrives on that type of energy. I expect that he and his team are expecting a very hostile environment tomorrow and may play off of it to perform better.
I wonder what would happen if the BYU crowd tomorrow ignored 80k (still cheering passionately for BYU), especially at the start of the game. Perhaps the lack of animosity would be almost disappointing and lead to some sort of let down allowing BYU to get get some sort of edge early on.
Again it is probably a little crazy but ...
