I have always subscribed to the theory that “Bad things happen in threes.” It’s played out as truth my whole life. Well, I’ve had two bad things happen to me today.

First, I was playing with my kids at the playground and tried to run away from my son during tag when I stepped off a playset onto a bar, had my foot slip and I fell, tumbling through the bars and twisting my knee. I have a huge bruise on the inside of my lower leg and the pain is settling into the knee now with some swelling.

Second, my family is flying out for the holidays tomorrow and my 9-year old just started puking his brains out an hour ago. The 6 year old is now complaining of stomach pain. Now we are trying to figure out what the heck to do.

So it’s natural that Utah not only loses tonight but loses bad. I expect either a gut punch loss or a blowout. Book it.

Tender Mercies: With an 11 pm start time and travel tomorrow, there’s no way I am staying up so I’ll just hear about it.
