him play. (My BiL was in the Stake Presidency in the Albany Stake). He says that Jimmer is absolutely the real deal. Not some fluke shooter who lights it up but doesn't have the athleticism to play D-1. After watching the Coogs play this weekend, he says there's no way Jimmer won't come in and start. He'd be the best guard on the floor.
BTW - my BiL was a very good BBaller in his day. he had offers to play at smaller D-1's out of High School (Niagra, Siena, Hofstra, etc), but tried to walk-on at BYU instead. Too bad it was in the middle of the Ainge-Kite-Roberts era or he might've had a chance...
Also BTW - Jimmer was the # 1 scorer in the Capital District in NYS (Albany Area) for the last two years. Albany & its suburbs include some traditionally pretty good BBall schools. Not as competitive as the NYC schools (nor as populated), but a bunch of kids from the area goto top D-1 schools every year. He's a REAL catch for BYU...
