I finally adopted the same rule for my kids that my mom had. When I was a kid we could get a spicy chicken or mcdouble because they were each a dollar. Now I give my kids a choice of the cheapest things as well. Got sick of spending $45 at McDonalds to feed everyone. Not that $45 breaks the bank, but just felt dumb paying that much at Mcd's.
