So I guess the answer is “not a hit by U2 standards”. Great song though. My older brothers first got me into U2 and the
oldest (who was there for Joshua Tree and you can even see him in Rattle and Hum during their Tempe concert, so I saw him as the authority) told me “Bad” was their best song. This was in response to my submission that “One” was their best song after Achtung Baby came out.
So I guess I’d always seen it as being big and well-known. But I was talking with big U2 fans.
