Just listened to this whole album for the first time. It’s really great.
I never got into The Jam. They were before my time. I have listened to older stuff here and there but it’s hard to cover everything. Plus I think their later stuff sounds sort of new wave 80s and that wasn’t my thing. But this is an incredible album. It sort of sounds like a more polished, less angst version of the Stiff Little Fingers. Great stuff.

Back in 2002 I was a late night DJ at a college radio station and Paul Weller’s live solo album, Days of Speed was in the rotation. It has a lot of acoustic versions of The Jam songs. However, my absolute favorite from that one is Brand New Start. I think it’s an original song he wrote for the acoustic guitar. As a beginner/internediate guitar player, I remember it was a lot of fun to play because it had the easy open chords and then some pull-offs or hammer-ons and stuff like that.
