teams dismiss BYU, the more likely that they get blind-sided with BYU's multi-faceted offense, and solid defense / rebounding. Every single team in the B12 learned pretty quickly (partly due to pre-season accolades) to NOT DISMISS BYU, and that is why they all played so energized against BYU. That energy resulted in some B12 teams stealing some games (with significant help from the refs) that they would not have won otherwise. Houston, for example, would have lost to BYU if they had treated BYU with a "meh" effort. As it was, they barely beat BYU, thanks to some significant ref involvement in the outcome down the stretch.
