Seems like there is always a different reason why we get knocked out each year
-Not playing enough tough competition (WCC)—>played well in Big 12 and still got bounced in first round.
-Seeded poorly (some years we’ve received favorable seeds or have been seeded significantly higher than our opponents and still lost). Should have won today based on the seeding gap.
-Don’t have superstar player (Jax played like one today but the rest of the team really struggled and we lost)
-Guard play (2014/2015 we had upper classman Kyle Collinsworth and still lost to Oregon and Ole Miss). I think Dallin Hall will be another great guard his junior and senior years but wasn’t quite there this year. And he had no backup.
-Flukes (Davies, COVID)
-Lack of athleticism—we seemed to do just fine against athletic teams this year (see Baylor, Iowa state, Kansas, Texas, UCF, TCU, SDSU, Houston, etc.)

There are lots of reasons why we lost today but after this appearance after being in the Big12, a few of my tried and true reasons for losing went out the window. I’m scratching my head how this happens no matter what the circumstances are, even when we’re favored.
