had shops and eateries, nobody would complain. It is all psychological. When it is just walls with a weird mural of giant squirrels and deer, people suddenly believe they are crossing the plains.
I've noticed this at Newark and Dallas--both also have had long stretches of walking that feel burdensome because there is nothing to look at. Yet mix in a couple CNBC shops and a pub and people will walk over a mile without a thought.
