No they shouldn't.
Here's the thing - NIL was never supposed to be about "we'll pay you to play for this school".

It was always supposed to be about students gaining some level of fame or recognition and being able to cash in on it. If you've seen Caitlin Clark on the State Farm TV ads - that's what it's about. She isn't getting that money because State Farm wants her to play at Iowa. She's getting it because State Farm knows she's famous and wants her to be a celebrity spokesperson.

If someone (company, individual, etc.) is paying a player based on the player's name, image, or likeness, it's supposed to be about paying the player - not paying for the player to go to a certain school.

I kind of hope that more college athletes take cash from various folks and then fail to deliver and/or transfer. It might be for the best for folks paying NIL to athletes to experience some of the unintended consequences of taking things the wrong direction themselves.
