…defend the dribble drive of other PG’s and also on the offensive end get downhill, attack the rim and finish through contact. We didn’t have that guy last year and if our first season in the Big12 showed us anything it’s that glaring weakness.
CB doesn’t understand modern basketball and where the game has evolved to today. They mistakenly think we need a behomoth 7 ft low post guy. Wrong. That was the 90’s. We didn’t struggle with big post guys in the Big12, it was teams that ran dual PG’s that we struggled with. Dallin had to carry the load alone, he needs help next season.
We need to find a pit bull at PG who can give us additional ball handling under pressure, get downhill in attacking the rim, finish through contact and then also defend other PG’s and keep them from getting to the rim. We didn’t have that guy last season and we saw too many opposing PG’s go off for 30+ pts in multiple games.
