from other countries and other countries are more associated with some of those foods than the Americas. The potato originated in Peru, but the Netherlands is the top exporter. I think of countries like Italy when I think about the tomato, which is native to the Americas. Much of the world's history is told through wars (especially movies and TV shows). But I think the food angle is interesting. I wonder how much the world was shaped by man's desire to eat good food.
