Hip mobility and MTB training update.
I am doing Peloton three days a week. Two 15 HIIT sessions with a 30 min HIIT and Hills session in between. I combine a leg workout with my first hit session and then do upper body workouts the other three day. I try to get out on my bike on my non leg days and do an “active” recovery trying to maintain a HR under 110. Been avg about 102 HR while I focus on my breathing to get as much O2 to my muscles as I can. I have seen steady gains most days and the days I don’t see gains on the peloton I at least match my personal record. It’s been enjoyable. I do an easy walk on day seven for 30-45 minutes.

Hip mobility has been a game changer. My lower back pain is pretty much non-existent. My knees feel better. The stability in my hip joints and range of motion has increased across the board. Abductors, Adductors, flexors and glutes all strengthening. My squats (wide and narrow stance) are a bit deeper with more stability than ever, RDLS and split squats are better too (mostly form). I do have days that the tissue around my artificial hip has gotten some minor inflammation. I am able to knock it down with a dose of ibuprofen. Overall happy with my progress. Doing 10 minutes of mobility twice daily and have been able to add a couple actions more to my sessions. Anyway, I am hoping I make it to my family reunion (with MTB adventures) with no serious injury or illness. Also hope maybe at least one person gets a little motivation to start or continue in their fitness goals.
