...most competitive dudes don't shy away from competition and we're losing 2 guys from our guard rotation and it was really plain to see we were severely short handed in the PG position to the point that we were trying out guys like SJ and Jaxson as part time fixes there during the season. Also, Dawson Baker's doing his 2nd surgery in less than a year on the same foot and foot injuries are notoriously iffy for basketball players. Richie isn't a PG or even a CG, neither is Knell and Chandler is going to be fresh off a mission.

If I was Mason and looking at BYU's roster I would be thinking I'd have a pretty easy time getting a starting position alongside Hall as PG2 for BYU's 2nd season in the Big12. I would also see there's a strong young nucleus building with guys I know from the AAU circuit that I would fit in with and could be a part of something special in a season or two.
