That was the original plan. But he couldn't get a visa to cross from Algeria into Mauritania. He worked for 300+ days
to get the visa to cross from Mauritania into Algeria. Finally got it just a few days/weeks before he arrived at the Algerian border. The mission almost ended in Nouakchott
