Ok, listen, people, can we stop with the "we'll lose all our players" silliness?
1. CB spent the bulk of the year condemning our players as being essentially worthless. Now CB is talking about these guys like they're NBA prospects. There is ONE potential NBA guy on our team, and he was probably gone anyway. And I put even HIS odds on being drafted at 50/50.
2. The "our guys are going to leave!" hairshirting ignores a pretty big caveat: there has to be somewhere to GO, if you're going to leave. You really, seriously think a lot of big-name programs are queuing up to pitch Trevin Knell? I mean, sure, he can go play at Cal-Bakersfield, probably start on that team, but in the Big XII, or another major school? One that's going to give him the experience and exposure BYU can? Who is going to do that for a medium-height streak shooter with unspectacular defense who doesn't rebound well, struggles to stay in front of his man on D, doesn't steal, and can have six-seven games in a row where he shoots under 30%? Oh--and he misses free throws. A lot. Duke? Carolina? UK? Interested? No? Shocker. Maybe Duquesne will make an offer. Point is, Knell is replaceable. That's true of every single one of BYU's players (some more easily than others, obviously).
3. Any coach that gets this job will have his own pipeline, and there's absolutely no way you can argue that BYU's recruiting is just too incredible with Pope, that it couldn't be matched by anyone else. Yes, I remember Chandler. He's been out of the game for two years. When he 1) leaves BYU because Pope is gone and 2) lights it up for someone else, I'll be suitably chastened. But how many guys blew up post-mission? It's a crapshoot. Honestly, any possible candidate for the job will be able to bring in guys. Because...
4. This is not a second-tier WCC team we're talking about here. It's BYU. We're a top-25 program. We play in and book solid one of the biggest arenas in the country. Every single game we play is on TV somewhere (even if you have to get Big XII Now to get it--remember, there IS no WCC Now. Or even Atlantic-10 Now). There are ballplayers that will want to come here, I promise you.

TL;DR--BYU's recruiting is middling at the moment, and there's no reason to believe it will get worse. BYU's players are middling right now and every one can be replaced. Most of them won't leave anyway, because where are they going to go that's better?

Chill, people. It's going to work out.
