I booked a trip to Paris. So firstly, any tips for a family going to Paris? Kids aged 5-12. Where to stay? Is it as easy as London to get by without a car? From our limited research so far it seems like kids get in free for a lot of activities, which is nice. We're spending 8 days there.

I did not think about the Olympics and was just booking a good flight deal. Turns out it will overlap with about half of the Olympics (latter half). We will probably try to go to an event or two--but that is not our main purpose of going. Yes, I know it will make it much busier. Any advice for navigating Olympics?
