In the last 15 years Kentucky has recruited 5 three star guys. If Pope shows up to Lexington with 2 or 3 right off the bat I think it would cause a number of Kentucky alumni and the AD it sit up and say huh?
If Pope is a great recruiter there are better players available than those in the portal from BYU.
Jaxson Robinson has already played for 2 SEC teams and it didn't help his draft stock. Will it now? Perhaps the 3rd time is the charm but I'm doubtful.
Is Kentucky the type of place where a recently returned missionary could exceed immediately? Is Kentucky the type of place where the 37th ranked recruit in the country gets a couple of years to work themselves into playing shape? Kentucky gets multiple higher recruited guys than this every year. In 2023 they had the #3, 5, 6, 21 recruits in the country.
If Pope shows up to Kentucky with 3 guys from BYU he's will be off to a beyond terrible first impression and something went seriously wrong with his transition plan.
It's more likely that BYU guys transfer to schools not named Kentucky.
