Holmoe talking about BYU's "position of strength" is just CEO speak. This
comment actually really disappoints me from Holmoe. For a man who is supposed to be a man of integrity, this comment does not really seem to have a foundation in integrity. Just say nothing, for Pete's sake, but don't lie.
I understand the concept CEO's are taught to spin it, in order to "rally the troops" and promote confidence in the brand, but to say something that most people see right through, as just not being true (or at least generously hyperbolized), is not what I'd expect from a man of integrity. To speak optimistically about "meeting the challenge," and vowing to come back stronger with new ideas and hard work is one thing, but to say what Holmoe said is just pretty obviously disingenuous CEO Speak.
