I really like Coach Pope. I don’t think BYU could do any better than him in basketball. I think he is going to lead Kentucky to a lot of success. While it hurts a lot that he is leaving. I don’t blame him in the slightest and wish him lots of success(especially since he won’t be playing against us in the BIG 12.
But I personally think this is really gonna hurt BYU basketball. I hope I am wrong, but with pretty much all our best players leaving, I don’t see us making any noise in a while, if ever. Especially with NIL. I don’t see players ever getting paid enough to stay after a big year(ex Dallin Hall) and while I don’t blame those players because an opportunity to make thousands at another school is amazing. It makes me not want to get invested in these players anymore. I really liked hall and Khalfia. So it hurts even more that they won’t be playing as a cougar next year after the great years they had.
