A lot of coaches push to get their athletes in the fastest heats possible because faster heats equate to faster times.
1. Courtney Wayment (On) - fastest heat; in my mind she is a lock for the Olympics in the Steeplechase; an interesting sub-plot that is beginning to develop is current BYU runner Lexy Halladay-Lowry is redshirting to get one of those three Olympic Steeplechase spots for the USA
CWC Prediction- 4:05
2. Riley Chamberlain (So) - second fastest heat; seems as though every time she steps on the track she is setting some kind of record; currently #4 all-time at BYU in the 1500m at 4:11.52
CWC Prediction - 4:10
3. Anna Camp-Bennett (Adidas) - second fastest heat; took 3rd in the Mile at the USATF Indoor Nationals this past season
CWC Prediction - 4:08
4. Whittni Morgan (Adidas) - second fastest heat; this is her first race after receiving surgery and doing very little running over the last six months
CWC Prediction - 4:14
5. Sadie Sargent (Sr) - third fastest heat; she was quite a few top 10 times at BYU but doesn’t have one Outdoors in the 1500m; would need to go sub-4:13.60
CWC Prediction - 4:14
6. Jacey Farmer (So) - fifth fastest heat; in the last four months she’s had PBs in the 800m, 1500m, Mile, and 3,000m; hoping she can PB and go sub-4:18; if she continues to improve, she could be in the top seven for Cross in the fall
CWC Prediction - 4:17
7. Taylor Lovell (So) - coming off a top 10 performance on Thursday in the Steeplechase this will be her first collegiate 1500m; she owns a 4:43 PB in the Mile, so I would love to see her go sub 4:21
CWC Prediction - 4:21
