Some end of season stats... GameScore

I've been wanting to do a few posts about end of season stats from the basketball team. I know the team has lost some of its luster in the past week but I still want to share a few of the totals from the season. The first one is the overall GameScore for each of the players and the team.

I have totals for the season and then again for just the conference games. I included the NCAA tournament game in the conference game tally.

I included the GameScore per min for the full season and then again for the conference games. And then the differential between the conference GameScore points vs. the full season GameScore points.

A few insights from looking at the numbers:
- Fouss was our best overall GameScore player on the team. I was surprised to see he played 200+ less minutes in conference games than the rest of the main players. I know there were times where his lack of height was a factor for not playing him but I think Pope found that Fouss could handle the taller players in later conference games.
- Looking at the GameScore Ave for Non-Con and Conf games, Hall was the most consistent from non-con to conf games. His best GameScore game of the season was against Kansas. Fouss was right there in terms of consistency.
- The best GameScore game in conference for the team was the Iowa St game at home.
- The worst GameScore game in conference for the team was the Cincinnati game at home.
- Spencer Johnson had the best GameScore game of the year against Iowa St at home.

What other insights do you see?

Game Score was created by John Hollinger to give a rough measure of a player's productivity for a single game. It takes into account points, field goal attempts, field goal makes, free throw makes, free throw attempts, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, steals, assists, blocks, fouls and turnovers. Missed field goals, missed free throws, personal fouls and turnovers are all negative. Hollinger developed it for the NBA where 40 is an outstanding performance and 10 is an average performance.
