His best years at BYU, well the first one is with players someone else developed. And while this year the team looked way better, it still couldn't be consistent, and in many games was simply out coached. It makes it hard to gauge how effective Pope is. Was it him or his collection of assistant coaches?

Sure this year we did much better from the 3, but only his first year did he have the same type of success. And after that year the staff was bragging about how good they were at teaching shooting. Only to see 3 years of dismal 3 point shooting. So I don't know.

I felt he was doing an adequate job here, but nothing stellar. Stellar to me is finishing better than 5th in the WCC, and winning some post season games.
