Many people have given a lot to him as a coach, head of a the program, the school etc etc and to say nothing is quite frankly no bueno. He should be very appreciative of BYU and what that university and fans gave him. I have zero problem with him going after that job but it's classless to not have much or anything to say about your previous employer and fans.
