Ive felt that the portal needs some guardrails, but one situation that
I’ve felt could be a transfer-accepted situation is when a coach leaves a school. Reality is, kids commit more to a coach than to a school these days. That’s how good HS athletes (or younger) are focused these days. If it was me or my kid I absolutely would be doing the same thing.

But once BYU gets a coach signed, that coach will also start attracting kids to play for him and we’ll start to build a team again.

Pope gave us hope based on what we saw on the court this year, but it really was just hope and not actual results we’d be content with year after year. Pope cast a wide recruiting net and landed a few good recruits, but generally he missed on his top targets and most of his recruits were just okay in the end.

BYU has just as good of a chance of being good With the next coach as they did with Pope. We just need to know who it will be and then they can get to work.
