Crazy stuff going on at a local high school on a spring sports team
An inappropriate act happens involving one teammate’s private parts and another sleeping teammate.

The event is captured on camera and distributed to most the team on Snapchat, including images of private body parts of kids under 18.

The coaches are told and report to administration.

The assistant principal has a meeting with the team, and tells them they need to delete all images and delete Snapchat immediately.

They have a team meeting with players and parents last night and tell them that nobody will be punished because they have no hard evidence of the event, and no kids are willing to be a witness. All they have are anonymous reports, but nobody is willing to put their name on a report.

One parent at the meeting says her child saw the inappropriate images, and asks why they were told to delete them by the assistant principal. (Now they have a name of a witness, but probably won’t actually ask the child about what they know/saw).

The principal explains that they told the kids they needed to not have any of the images on their phone. Then the principal realizes what she has said (e.g., that she acknowledged the existence of inappropriate images), and tries to restate that they told them they need to get rid of Snapchat because they’ve generally seen a lot of bad things with Snapchat.

They conclude that if nobody will come forward by Wednesday morning and put their name on a report, then they will be done with the issue and move forward as though nothing happened.

The kids are threatening teammates that if they come forward, there will be consequences.

It wild to me what we do to protect our high school sports success.
